Herb Bundles, Smudge Sticks, & Palo Santo

from $8.00

Smudges are used in a variety of ways. Some of these uses are herbal meditation, incense, cleansing of sacred spaces, or to "wash away" negative energies of a home, person, or object.

VARIATIONS

White Sage - Typically your bundles are made with White Sage, a Native American dubbed sacred plant which has been used for thousands of years. It is a versatile herb suitable for almost any smudging ritual.

Mugwort (Black Sage) - An herb of inner healing, introspection, and pleasant dreams in restful sleep.

Cedar - A tree that invokes the protection and wisdom of ancient forests. Cedar smudging is great for new homes. It is one of the oldest plants still thriving on Earth.

Lavender - The calming, peaceful, and sedating effects of a Lavender smudge inspire romantic attraction and also soothes anxiety. This herb is also great paired with White Sage for a cleanse and condition type of power punch.

Sweetgrass - Attracts positive energies and purifies auras. Great for personal healing smudges.

Palo Santo - Like Sweetgrass, Palo Santo invites in positivity and joy. The smell of this wood is sweet, welcoming in creativity and good fortune.

NOTE ON PALO SANTO This item is sourced only from naturally fallen Bursera Graveolens trees. These trees are “picked up” by gatherers in an effort to clean the area and harvest the sacred wood for our use. They are also actively protecting and regenerating the dry forests by planting new trees. The palo santo that I have has not been cut down to fulfill the recently increasing consumer demands but rather has completed it’s natural life cycle and is now available for our benefit.

RITUAL:
To cleanse a home or room light the tip of the bundle or stick until you have a steady flame. Once smoldering, and taking care to keep the bundle over the fire-safe catcher to avoid any falling herbs, wave the smoke into all corners, across doorways and into shadow spaces by waving a hand or feather. Let the stick burn or gently tap out the embers on your heat-proof abalone shell or other suitable incense holder.
